Membership – General

Click here to become an IGA Member. Choose the appropriate category and follow the instructions. If you have any questions, we would be happy to assist you at support@lovegeothermal.org.

Upon registering you will receive your IGA ID in a separate email, which you can use to access the IGA membership area.

Please, take into account that IGA ID is not the same thing as username and password, which you choose when registering for membership on our website. The latter allows you to manage your online profile and payments.

There are currently five membership categories:

Individual membership – people interested in supporting geothermal energy and the objectives of the IGA.

Corporate club membership – commercial or profit-making organizations interested in supporting geothermal energy and the objectives of the IGA. Each corporate member is entitled to three voting representatives.

Institutional membership – non-profit organizations interested in supporting geothermal energy and the objectives of the IGA. Each institutional member is entitled to three voting representatives.

Student membership – students interested in supporting geothermal energy and the objectives of the IGA and regularly enrolled in a college or university. Student members have all the rights, the privileges and the duties of membership but do not have the right to vote or hold office.

Affiliated membership – individual members belonging to the IGA through a group scheme by virtue of their membership in an affiliated organization. They have the same voting rights as individual members but their obligations and benefits may differ from those of individual members according to the terms of the group scheme agreed between the affiliated organization and the IGA Board of Directors.

Membership – Affiliated Members and Organizations

An affiliated membership is an individual member belonging to the IGA through a group scheme by virtue of their membership in an affiliated organization. They have the same voting rights as individual members but their obligations and benefits may differ from those of individual members according to the terms of the group scheme agreed between the affiliated organization and the IGA Board of Directors.

An affiliated organization is a national geothermal organization involved in geothermal research and activities that supports and promotes geothermal energy on a country level. Please, find the list of all IGA affiliated organizations here.

The answer is yes. You are automatically an IGA affiliated member if you are a member of any IGA affiliated organizations listed here.

We encourage you to become an affiliated member, in case an IGA affiliated organization operates in your country. This way you can not only enjoy the benefits of the IGA, but also the benefits of your national association.

If you choose to become an affiliated member, please bear in mind that all communication with you will be done via a liaison officer of your affiliated organization. Read the section below for more information.

All initial communication between an affiliated member and the IGA is done through the appointed liaison officer of an affiliated organization. These are communication and media officers, general secretaries and administrators. We advise you to check the website of your affiliated organization to find out the main contact person.

You can also choose to communicate with us directly. Please log in to the membership area and update your profile.

Membership – Corporate Club

IGA Corporate Club is an exclusive club that consists of commercial or profit-making organizations interested in supporting geothermal energy and the objectives of the IGA.

You want to join the IGA Corporate Club because you are just entering the global geothermal market and would like to receive market insights. Or you want to increase your geothermal project portfolio. You want to be involved in the high-level talks and shape the geothermal agenda for years to come. Or you want to support the objectives of the IGA.

At the IGA Corporate Club we are concentrating on cross-over and technology transfer and building new partnerships; we are involved in active networking and offer you a personalized collaboration plan.
