Dear friends of the IGA, dear friends of Geothermal,

It is time. Time to meet again. The past 1.5 years and travel bans due to Covid didn’t make this easy. And let’s be honest: this is not fully over yet.

But with more and more vaccinated people we also see more and more possibilities to travel and meet, which is crucial for the IGA: an international organization uniting the geothermal sector. Even in a more and more digital world.

Hence, we hope as many of you as possible will be able to celebrate the World Geothermal Congress 2020+1 together with us and our fantastic Icelandic hosts, who did an amazing job over the past more than seven(!) years to make this happen.

But we also want to take the chance again to visit you. To learn more about your stories and experience the versatility of Geothermal applications on site, and to share these experiences with the entire global geo-energy community.

Therefore, it is our pleasure to announce the first IGA geothermal study tour after the “Covid break”, in collaboration with the “Geothermal Heat Utilization for Industrial Processes in the SICA Member Countries” (GEO II) project of “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit” (GIZ)*, to El Salvador. The trip will take place between end of August and mid of September 2021 and undertaken by me, Gregor Rumberg, IGA COO and author of this post.

Partners to be met include (and are not limited to) the authority of Energy (CNE), Energy Suppliers (LaGeo) and many direct use examples from food processing to heating & cooling for hotels.

I look forward very much to meet many great people and share my experiences in our new IGA team blog, which will be launched with this study tour as well. Hence, please make sure you follow us on social media and check out our website for exclusive content of course!

What do you want to learn about Geothermal In El Salvador? What do you want to know more about? Please feel free to put your comments in our social media channels and contact me directly: gregor@lovegeothermal.org. I look forward to hearing from you.

Stay tuned, stay well!

Best wishes,
/gr
