ARGeo-C10 Abstract Submission Deadline ends tomorrow!

Welcome to the longest running regional conference and expo that brings together the entire geothermal community both regionally in Africa and globally in what has been the largest African RE Conference.

This time round, the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, through the Tanzania Geothermal Development Company (TGDC) will be hosting the Tenth African Rift Geothermal Conference (ARGeo-C10), celebrating its 18th year of the African biennial conference. This will be in partnership with UN Environment Programme (UNEP), African Geothermal Association (AGA), and other international partners involved in geothermal sector in the region. The theme of the Conference is “Accelerating Development of Geothermal Resources in Africa for Just Energy Transition, Carbon Markets and Net Zero Emissions”.

The conference will be held at Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 11 – 17 November 2024.

This is the First Announcement of the Call for Abstracts for the technical sessions to be presented which will be focusing on

  • Geothermal power generation and Direct use application
  • Policy, strategy and regulatory framework for accelerating the scaling-up of the geothermal industry in African
  • Financing Renewable Energy projects
  • Environmental, and social impacts in geothermal development.
  • Case studies of geothermal development
  • Geothermal Exploration – geology, geochemistry, geochemistry, geophysics, etc.
  • Drilling technologies
  • Reservoir Engineering
  • Capacity and skill development in geothermal including student papers
  • Contribution of Geothermal Energy to Power-to-X (PtX)
  • Leveraging Carbon Markets In Africa
