Max Brouwers is an energy executive driving the energy transition. He is currently Chief Business Development Officer for Getech, where he leads the growth for all of the company’s priority sectors: geothermal, hydrogen, critical minerals, plus CO2 & energy storage.
Max started his career at Shell in 1996 and his last role there was Vice President Exploration for Europe, Russia and Caspian. He is also the chair of the AAPG Energy Transition Forum, and has an MBA plus an MSc in Geology.

From an early age, my interests for engineering and constructive technologies have always been present. With an electrician as a grandfather, I grew up with experiments in which I was taught my first steps in physics long before school did things the safe and appropriate way. Being challenged has always proven to be the best way to motivate me and ‘finding an answer’ can keep me tinkering on a subject for days at end. Having enjoyed the result of a non-straight forward education, an euphemism for how my initial study was an impressive failure and my second study took longer than supposed, everything that ever delayed and distracted me has had the result of becoming useful. It all led towards a diverse and broad background.

After working with two “big” law firms, Marc switched firm to focus solely on renewable energy projects. Marc is partner in the Dutch independent law firm Straatman Koster Advocaten, based in Rotterdam

She is engaged in strategic initiatives, to consistently add value to the geothermal sector by creating opportunities for geothermal development underpinning the vision of achieving a net-zero future.
